Maundy Thursday Service – Salem Lutheran Church
Join us for this sacred service as we remember the night Jesus was betrayed. Maundy Thursday bridges the gap between Jesus’ earthly ministry and His crucifixion on Good Friday. It’s a night of contrasts—the intimacy of the Upper Room and the agony of Gethsemane, Jesus’ loving service and Judas’ betrayal, the gift of communion and the approaching cross.
In this traditional worship service, we observe Holy Communion, following Jesus’ command to “do this in remembrance of me.” We’re reminded that every time we receive the Lord’s Supper, we proclaim Christ’s death until He comes again.
The service creates space for reflection on Jesus’ sacrificial love and His call for us to serve one another in humility. This is essential preparation for Good Friday, when we’ll stand at the foot of the cross and contemplate the depth of God’s love for us.
All baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you’re exploring faith or have questions about communion, please speak with Pastor Nowak before or after the service.
